SV1DPJ participated in CQ WPX CW 2020 as SZ1A

Vasilis SV1DPJ participated in the CQ WPX CW Contest on the weekend of May 30-31, 2020, with our club station callsign SZ1A in the Single Operator 20m High Power Assisted category.

Vasilis managed a very good score, making a little more than 2000 CW contacts. HF Propagation was quite good compared to what it has been lately and stations from all over the world were heard. At the end, he achieved 3,351,552 points, 2025 unique QSOs and 1024 prefixes.

The antenna used on 20 meters was the EF204ARC (4 elements – 9,80m Boom) Monoband Yagi, the radio used was a Yaesu FT-1000 – MarkV Field with a OM2000HF linear amplifier, and DXLog contest logging software.

Vasilis also had the opportunity to use two new tools compared to the past: the MarkV’s 2nd VFO with a 2nd keyboard on the same computer, and the ability to rotate the rotor through the logging software, which, as unbelievable as it may seem, makes it’s use much easier, more efficient and reduces operator fatigue.
